2Rooms and suites
Every hotel room is at least 65 m² and has a living and dining area, which is very spacious by Japanese standards. Below are the room types listed in the hotel fact sheet, with notes on which suit different kinds of trips. Please check the official website for current room names and rates when you book.

King / Twin (incl. Mountain View)
The hotel's standard rooms, including Mountain View rooms facing the slopes. The pet-friendly rooms, where you can stay with your dog, are also in this 65 m² category.
Suites
Suites with a separate bedroom and living room. Families with children will find it easy to separate sleeping and relaxing spaces.
Onsen Suite / Deluxe Suite
Suites facing Mount Yotei with a private onsen in the room. There are only 5 Deluxe Suites and 2 standard Onsen Suites.
Signature Suite
The hotel's finest suites, with views of Mount Yotei, a private onsen, a terrace and a veranda. Ideal for anniversaries or a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
Residences and penthouses
Options range from studios (35–40 m², or 73 m² with onsen) to one-bedroom (100–109 m²) and two-bedroom (140 m²) residences and penthouses (153–157 m²). All residences with one or more bedrooms have a private onsen. Most types have a kitchenette and washer/dryer, making them ideal for long stays and groups (the twin studio does not).

Which room suits your trip?
- Couples and anniversaries: an Onsen Suite or Signature Suite lets you enjoy an onsen in your own room. There are only a few, so book early.
- Families with children: suites with a separate bedroom, or residences with a kitchenette, are the most comfortable.
- Groups and long stays: a multi-bedroom residence keeps everyone together in one space.
- Traveling with your dog: pet-friendly rooms allow up to 2 dogs of up to 6 kg each (12 kg in total), with a ¥10,000 deposit and other conditions. A consent form is required in advance.
3Onsen, spa and pool

Natural hot spring baths
The hotel has separate natural onsen baths for men and women. According to the hotel website, each has two pools at 40°C and 42°C, a dry sauna and a cold plunge pool.
- Hours: 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
- Reservation required, up to 50 minutes per visit
- Open to hotel guests and to visitors who have booked a spa treatment that day
The baths get busy in the late afternoon after skiing, so book a time slot in advance. There are no tattoo restrictions, so guests with tattoos can use the baths too.
Rooms with a private onsen

If you would rather bathe in private, choose a room with its own onsen: the Onsen Suite, Deluxe Suite and Signature Suite, residences with one or more bedrooms, and some studio residences.
Spa treatments

The spa has 6 treatment rooms, including 2 couple rooms with a private onsen. It is open from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Spa guests can also use the onsen baths for up to 50 minutes before or after their treatment.
Indoor pool and fitness
There is a 25 m indoor pool and a fitness center open 24 hours.
4Restaurants and dining
The hotel has 10 restaurants, lounges and bars, covering French, sushi, teppanyaki, robata, Chinese, Italian and patisserie, plus private dining rooms, wine cellars and karaoke. The hotel is a little away from central Niseko, so being able to eat well without leaving the resort is a big advantage. Opening days and hours change with the season, so please check the official website for the latest information.
Book your restaurants as soon as your dates are set
Hotel guests fill the restaurants quickly, and in the busy winter season you may not get a table on the day. Book your dinners once your dates are fixed, especially on your arrival day, when you will be tired from traveling.
- Hotel-operated restaurants can be booked on the official website or through the restaurant reservations team (phniseko.fbreservations@hyatt.com).
- Molière Montagne and Sushi Mitsukawa must be booked directly through each restaurant (the hotel cannot book them for you).
- In winter the drive from the airport can take longer than planned. On your arrival day, leave plenty of margin in your dinner time.

The Lounge
The heart of the hotel, serving international and Hokkaido cuisine made with local produce throughout the day. Its signature is the Pierre Hermé Paris afternoon tea (2:00–4:00 p.m., last entry 3:30 p.m.). The hotel notes that The Lounge is popular with both in-house and outside guests.
Molière Montagne
The restaurant of Chef Hiroshi Nakamichi, who has championed Hokkaido produce since 1984 and whom the hotel describes as a three-Michelin-starred chef. Ingredients from Hokkaido's sea and land are prepared with classic French techniques. Open for lunch and dinner; closed on Wednesdays (as of October 2026).
Sushi Mitsukawa
Kanazawa-style sushi and sashimi from the Michelin-starred owner-chef Mitsukawa of Kanazawa. Fish from Kanazawa's Omicho Market is served on traditional Ohi-yaki ware from the Hokuriku region. Lunch is served on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays only.
Teppan
Teppanyaki inspired by Japanese and French cuisine. Hokkaido vegetables, wagyu, abalone and Japanese seafood are cooked in front of you, with two course menus: "Niseko" and "Hanazono." The Chief Sommelier recommends local wines and sake, and the wine list has received the Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence four years running since 2023.
Advance reservations for a minimum of 2 adults are required. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (as of October 2026).
Robata
"Robata" means "by the fireplace." Enjoy fresh seafood and local produce grilled over crackling charcoal, as well as hot pots such as shabu-shabu. The chef will help you choose sake, Japanese beer, whisky or wine to match your meal.
China Kitchen
From Cantonese dishes that bring out the flavor of the ingredients to the aromatic heat of Sichuan cuisine. There is a weekend dim sum brunch and a hot pot set menu. For winter season hours, please check the official website.
Olivio
A lively Italian restaurant for families and friends, serving Italian classics made with local produce and fresh herbs. The chefs' specialty is homemade pasta made from scratch, and pizza is available to take away. Olivio is closed in November 2026, so please check the official website for its winter hours.
Deli
Pierre Hermé Paris pastries, plus freshly baked pastries and breads to enjoy in or take away. Every morning from 7:00 to 10:30 a.m., Deli also hosts the breakfast buffet. The cake shop opens daily from November 27, 2026.
The Bar & Cigar Lounge
A bar for whisky, Hokkaido craft gin and local craft beer. Its four signature cocktails, "SAKURA MARTINI," "SAYURI," "TSUKIMI OLD FASHIONED" and "WINTER SOUR," are each inspired by one of Niseko's seasons, and cigars can be paired with premium whiskies. Open daily 5:00–11:00 p.m., with happy hour from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and a two-hour free-flow gin offer, "Gin O'clock."
Mountain Lounge
A lounge for wine, craft beer and seasonal mocktails with views of Mount Yotei, including sparkling wine from Niki Hills Winery in nearby Niki town. It operates as a lounge in winter only, but the lounge space is open to guests during the Green Season too.

Breakfast, and dining when you arrive late

Breakfast is served as a buffet at Deli (daily, 7:00–10:30 a.m.). In-room dining is available 24 hours: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and wine from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and a late-night menu from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. That is reassuring if winter travel delays mean you arrive late at night, or if you have small children and would rather relax in your room.
A winter-only experience: Krug Igloo Privé
In winter, the hotel opens "Krug Igloo Privé," an exclusive private dining venue created with the Champagne house Krug. Set up in the snow-covered event village, the igloo offers dinner with Krug Champagne under the starry winter sky.
- For winter 2026–27 it is scheduled to return on December 15, 2026, and reservations are already open.
- For hours, please contact the hotel.
- Book online through the official website or via the restaurant reservations team (phniseko.fbreservations@hyatt.com).
If you are planning it for an anniversary, check availability as soon as your dates are set.
Private dining and karaoke for groups and celebrations
The hotel has a wine cellar (10 seats) and three private dining rooms, Niwa I, II and III (8–10 seats), for private meals and wine tastings guided by the Chief Sommelier. The China Kitchen round table seats up to 14, and Sushi Mitsukawa's omakase can be ordered in a private room. Minimum charges apply, so please contact the hotel for details.
There are also two karaoke rooms (up to 10 people each) with songs in Japanese, Chinese, English and Korean. Open daily from 12:00 to 11:00 p.m.; advance booking is essential. For non-staying guests, a minimum charge of ¥11,000 per hour per room applies (plus a 15% service charge), and same-day cancellations are charged the full minimum.
Dress code and dietary needs
- The dress code is smart casual. Ski boots, bathrobes and slippers are not permitted in the restaurants.

- Opening days and hours change with the season (information as of October 2026).
5Winter in Niseko

The Hanazono ski area and its powder
Hanazono is one of the four interconnected resorts of Niseko United. According to the resort's official website, it receives over 15 m of snow in an average season and is known for its wide-open powder bowls and tree runs.
The ease of ski-in, ski-out
You can step straight from the hotel onto the slopes, with no carrying heavy skis around. The hotel has a ski valet, where you can buy lift passes, rent ski equipment and more, all in one place.
Lift passes and season dates
- Opening date, night skiing dates and prices for 2026–27 will be announced on the official Hanazono Resort website (the 2025–26 season opened on November 29)
- Lift passes: a Hanazono & Grand Hirafu pass, and the Niseko United All Mountain Pass covering all four resorts
For prices and each resort's closing date, see the lift ticket page on the official Hanazono Resort website.
Great for beginners and families too
Hanazono has a large learning area with group and private lessons, plus childcare and indoor facilities for kids. Non-skiers can try guided snowshoe tours, snowmobiling, tubing, a winter zipline and horse riding, while advanced riders can join guided backcountry tours.
Temperatures in Hokkaido often stay below freezing even during the day in winter, so pack warm layers, gloves and a hat.
6Summer in Niseko

Once the snow melts, Hanazono enters its "Green Season." The 2026 Green Season ended on October 12. Dates for 2027 will be announced on the official Hanazono Resort website.
At the resort
- Golf: the 18-hole Hanazono Golf course is right next to the hotel. Its clubhouse, Café Hana 2, looks out on Mount Yotei and serves Japanese and Western classics, stone-oven pizza, the popular Café Hana 2 Burger and Pierre Hermé Paris ice cream. Please check the official website for its season.
- Zipline: "Hanazono Zipflight" flies over the forest.
- Forest and mountain fun: tree trekking, mountain biking, the summer gondola and a Pierre Hermé afternoon tea by the lake.
Outdoor activities nearby
The hotel fact sheet lists golf, rafting and canoeing, cycling, tree trekking, the zipline, fishing, hiking and cultural experiences as summer activities. Canyoning and horse riding are also popular in the area.
For families: the hotel's cooking classes
In summer 2026 the hotel ran cooking classes for children aged 6–12 from June to October. Kids made dim sum at China Kitchen, pizza at Olivio and ice cream parfaits at Deli with the chefs, and both hotel guests and local children could join (a guardian had to accompany each child; reservations required). Please check the official website for 2027.
Seasonal activities change their dates and booking methods every year, so always check the organizer's latest information before you go.
7Nearby sights
The hotel website and fact sheet list the following nearby sights (distances as given by the hotel). Otaru is about 67 km away and Sapporo about 104 km, so day trips from Niseko are possible. Some roads close in winter, so check the season before you plan.
Shinsen-numa Pond
A wetland pond in the Niseko mountains. Walk the boardwalk among alpine plants and autumn colors.
Shikotsu-Toya National Park and Lake Toya
The national park reaches close to the hotel and includes Mount Yotei and Lake Toya, a caldera lake south of Yotei. A day trip combined with the lakeside hot spring town is popular.
Twin Peaks Bike Park
A summer activity spot with dedicated mountain bike trails.
Hirafu village and Kutchan town
Hirafu, with its restaurants and shops, is a short drive from Hanazono. JR Kutchan Station is about 10 minutes from the hotel by car.
8Getting there from New Chitose Airport
According to the hotel fact sheet, the drive from New Chitose Airport takes about 2 hours via Route 276 and the Mifue Pass (the hotel FAQ says about 2–2.5 hours). From Sapporo it is about 2 hours via Route 230 and the Nakayama Pass, and from Otaru about 1.5 hours via Route 5. These times assume clear roads. In winter, snow and poor visibility can add a lot of time.
Ways to get there
Hotel transfers
According to the hotel FAQ, there is a direct airport shuttle bus to the resort in winter and a limousine service by advance reservation in the Green Season. Please ask the hotel concierge for schedules and prices.
Public transport
In winter, several companies run ski buses from New Chitose Airport toward Niseko (many require reservations and run only for part of the season).
By JR train, it is about 40 minutes from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo, about 35 minutes from Sapporo to Otaru, then about 1 hour on the Hakodate Line (bound for Oshamambe) from Otaru to Kutchan. From Kutchan Station it is about 10 minutes to the hotel by car. With several changes, this route is hard work with a lot of luggage.
Rental car
You can rent a car at the airport. It gives you freedom, but in winter you will be driving on snowy, icy roads. It also gets dark early, so if you are not used to snow driving, plan to arrive in daylight.
Taxi or private car
Go straight from the airport to the hotel entrance with no changes. The hotel FAQ also notes that last-minute arrangements are difficult and recommends booking early once your itinerary is set.
Tips for winter travel
- Snowstorms and poor visibility can delay your arrival by an hour or more. Leave plenty of margin when booking dinner on your arrival day.
- Bad weather can cause road closures or detours. Check the forecast and road information the day before and on the day.
- Flight delays are also common in winter. If you book a transfer, share your flight number so your driver can wait for your actual arrival.
If you have ski gear or large luggage
Suitcases plus ski or snowboard bags make buses and trains a real struggle. With a lot of luggage, choose a door-to-door option from the airport to the hotel. The hotel can also help you ship luggage with Yamato Transport, so you can send bags to the airport for your flight home.
