Niseko HANAZONO Resort is known for powder snow and tree runs. Here is a practical guide to runs by level, night skiing and the terrain park, things to do off the slopes, places to stay, and how to get there from New Chitose Airport.
Niseko HANAZONO Resort sits on the east side of Mt. Niseko Annupuri. It is one of the four resorts of Niseko United, alongside Grand Hirafu, Niseko Village and Annupuri, and is connected to Grand Hirafu by its runs.
According to the official website, HANAZONO averages more than 15 m of snow each season and is famous for its wide-open powder bowls and tree runs. Near the base there are gentle beginner runs and a large ski school area, which makes it popular with families too.
At the base, the resort center HANAZONO 308 handles lift tickets, rentals, lesson bookings and activities in one place. The slope-side restaurant HANAZONO EDGE has a restaurant, café and bar.
There are 12 runs in total, so you can choose by ability, snow conditions and how much energy you have left.
Night skiing is available on Colly's Folly and Juicy Fruit. Check the official website for night skiing dates and hours.
From the Hirafu side, take Parallel to reach HANAZONO; from HANAZONO, take Rentaku to the Hirafu side. If you plan to ski both, the HANAZONO/Grand Hirafu ticket or the All Mountain Pass for all four resorts is convenient.
Season dates, lift ticket prices and night skiing hours change every year. Check the official HANAZONO Resort website for the latest information.
Even if some of your family or friends don't ski, there is plenty to do at HANAZONO.
Depending on snow conditions, some activities may not be available in early December. Book on the official website.
